Rev. Johnathan S. Hill

Rev. Johnathan S. Hill is a strategist, scholar, and servant leader. A third-generation Baptist preacher following in the legacy of his paternal grandfather and father. He serves as the Senior Pastor of the Evergreen Baptist Church – Ethel, LA; where they are committed to Growing People, Engaging the Lost, and Serving the Community.

He previously served as the Assistant/Executive Pastor of the Fairview Baptist Church – Ethel, LA where he led the charge to launch and grow several ministries including the youth, music, audio/visual and Christian Education.

Rev. Hill is a 2003 graduate of Capitol High School, Spring 2008 graduate of the Southern University A&M College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and minor in Political Science, Spring 2016 graduate of Luther Rice College & Seminary with a Master of Arts in Ministry and currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Organizational Leadership at Regent University with a concentration in ecclesial (church) leadership.

In the community, he is a member of various organizations such as: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Capitol High School Alumni Association, East Feliciana Ministers Conference, Emmanuel Baptist Church Aid Association, Jno G. Lewis Jr. #261 Masonic Lodge, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) - Region V Chaplain, Southern University Alumni Federation - National Chaplain, and Southern University Alumni Home Chapter & East Baton Rouge Chapter. Additionally, he serves on various boards such as the Baton Rouge Recreation (BREC) Human Resources Committee, Capital Area Transit System Board of Commissioners, Imagination Leads, MetroMorphosis, Inc., and the Urban Leadership Development Initiative Alumni Network. He has participated in the following leadership programs: CHANGEMAKERS, Forum 225 Barton Leadership Program, Leadership Baton Rouge, Louisiana Association for Non-profit Organizations Community Leaders, Southern University Alumni Federation National Leadership Academy and the Urban Leadership Development Initiative.

He has received the Alpha Phi Alpha – Beta Iota Lambda Chapter Emerging Leader Award; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc – Southwestern Region Moving Communities Forward Service Award; United Christian Faith Ministries Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ember Award for Social Justice; and the Volunteer in Public Schools Golden Apple Award.

He currently leads the Advisory Services Practice for Franklin Associates, a multi-discipline consulting firm and Managing Partner of the HB Group. Additionally, he has been afforded the opportunity to speak and teach across the nation.

Pastor Hill has one son, Kaden Commodore, and he is married to the dynamic Ellen McKnight Hill and they have one daughter Maxine Hill.

He lives by the mantra, “Excellence is the standard, not an option.”​
